Secretary of the International Urogynaecological Association (IUGA) Board - A/Prof Roy Ng

Our heartiest congratulations to A/Prof Roy Ng (Head & Senior Consultant, Division of Urogynaecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery, Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology) for being nominated as the Secretary of the International Urogynaecological Association (IUGA) Board for two years from 1 January 2016. This is testament to his expertise and contribution to the field of Urogynaecology in the international arena.

A/Prof Ng is currently serving as the Representative for Asia on the International Advisory Board of IUGA. His responsibilities include organising the Pan Asian Meeting for IUGA Asian members, and providing advisory support to the annual IUGA meeting on membership matters and nomination of educational programme sites (eXchange programs and Regional Symposia) in Asia.

Under his leadership as Chairperson, the IUGA Regional Symposium was successfully held in Singapore in April 2012. For the past 15 years, A/Prof Ng has been actively contributing as faculty to present lectures and workshops, perform surgery in O&G and Urogynae conferences, both regionally and internationally.

“Being Secretary on the IUGA Board was one of mixed feelings of disbelief, anxiety with apprehension as well as joy, pride and fulfillment. It's a great responsibility which I will do my best to accomplish with the help and support of the Board and membership, especially from Asia. Being a staff at NUH has definitely enhanced my profiling in Asia. I am very fortunate to have the encouragement and support from Head of Department Prof Yong Eu Leong, as well as my family,” says A/Prof Ng.
